The gearbox and torque converter in forklift spare parts are core components of the transmission system, working together to achieve power transmission, torque regulation, and ride control.

The gearbox (transmission)'s core function is to adjust the engine's output speed and torque through a multi-stage gear train, matching the forklift's driving force requirements in different operating conditions. It also enables forward/reverse gear shifting and power interruption control.

The torque converter (hydraulic torque converter) is located between the engine and gearbox, transmitting power through hydraulic oil. Its core functions include: torque amplification: Under low-speed conditions, the guide wheel redirects oil flow, enabling output torque up to 2-3 times the input torque (such as when starting a forklift with a heavy load); flexible coupling: damping engine vibration and protecting the transmission system; automatic clutching: cutting power transmission at idle to prevent stalling; and high-speed locking: when the turbine and pump impeller speeds are synchronized, the lockup clutch creates a rigid connection, achieving 1:1 high-efficiency transmission.
