A water-cooled radiator (the mainstream type) consists of a metal housing, aluminum/copper heat sink chips, coolant piping, and an expansion chamber. Engine coolant flows through the radiator piping, exchanging heat with the hot transmission oil before dissipating the heat to the engine radiator.
