Working Principle of the Fuel Pressure Regulating Valve

Maintaining Stable Pressure: The throttle orifice restricts the fuel flow, keeping the pressure in the fuel supply line (located inside the cylinder head) at a constant value.

Safety pressure relief: When the fuel pressure exceeds a set value (e.g., 35 kPa), the spring-loaded one-way valve opens, allowing excess fuel to flow back to the fuel tank through the throttle orifice, thus preventing excessive system pressure and ensuring safety.

Backflow prevention: When the engine is stopped or there is no fuel pressure, the one-way valve closes to prevent fuel from flowing back to the fuel tank from the fuel passage in the cylinder head.
