Bucket teeth are replaceable, sharp parts installed at the front of the excavator bucket. Acting as "claws" that directly contact materials, they break and dig: penetrating hard soil, rock, or broken surfaces, significantly improving bucket cutting efficiency. They also protect the bucket: acting as a "sacrificial part," bearing the main wear and preventing damage to the bucket body (replacing the teeth is far less expensive than repairing the bucket). Furthermore, they optimize load: the tooth tip design (such as beak-shaped or conical) reduces digging resistance and lowers fuel consumption.
The bucket teeth must be fixed to the adapter in the bucket using tooth pins (or bolts), forming a "tooth tip-adapter-pin" system. If the tooth pin fails (e.g., due to insufficient lubrication causing jamming), it will directly affect the efficiency of bucket tooth replacement (see the previous section on lubricator maintenance).
